03/06/2014 Long time no Blog ! So much has happened since my last blog; it's the main reason I've been missing. Yes, the Kings won the Stanley Cup! The first time since the beginning of the Kings Team in the late 1960's. Jerry Buss was alive to see his team win and millions of fans like myself are still thrilled about their win and the even bigger win for Ice Hockey in Los Angeles!!! Sadly as Ice Hockey in Los Angeles gains momentum the aging Culver City Ice Arena lost it's lease and closed Sunday February 2nd after 52 years in business. I can't begin to express my sadness on this little blog without falling apart. I started skating at the Culver City Ice Arena in August 1971 when I attended a birthday party for my dear friend Kelley Ramsey. I was a rail hugging wreck but when my birthday came around the following April my parents got me a pair of used ice skates, a pink skating skirt and 6 weeks of group lessons. Shirley Alexander was my first skating coach. She changed my life when she asked my parents if I was interested in taking private lessons. We lost Shirley this past year as well. It's been a difficult two years and I'll be updating with positive thoughts of how I'm working hard to get ice skating back on the Westside. With the help of figure skaters, hockey skaters and everyone that just loves ice skating the Culver City Ice Arena may come back. The new incoming tenant and the land owner were not aware of the original zoning permits that only allow an ice skating facility/business on the property. Due to the length of time to change the zoning the incoming tenant is no longer looking to set up a rock climbing facility there. Where does that leave the ice rink? In limbo. The C.C.F.D. wants improvements before the ice rink will be allowed to reopen. I hope the land owner can put the much needed and deserved improvements into the facility before they reopen.
06/04/2012 And the Kings win Game 3; 4-zip! I'm looking forward toWednesday's game at Staples. Will the Kings take home the Stanley Cup??? If they do, it will be their first Stanley Cup Win, Ever! I've been watching the Kings play hockey since I was a little girl skating at Culver. Before there was a Staples they practiced at Culver. They didn't wear helmets and they were wearing purple and gold.
I'm starting the chanting now...Go Kings Go, Go Kings Go, Go Kings Go.

11/22/2011 Doritos Crash the Super Bowl... Back in October on the 29th I asked Reed Koppen if he'd be interested in helping me out with a commercial to submit to the Doritos contest. Reed said he was IN as the DP and then I confirmed my Director Sam Schectman on Halloween. I gathered all my friends and we filmed High Tea the following Saturday November 4th. I was out of town for a week then we edited for a week and submitted to the contest 2 days before the close of entries.
